PROGRAM - 7/12/10
Business Meeting - President Jim presented the budget for the upcoming year. Questions regarding income and expenditure were posed and answered. Upon the recommendation of the Board of Managers the budget has been accepted. You may view the budget and other documents in the Members area of the website. If you do not have the password for access to the Members area, contact Jim Schuh.
One subject discussed at length was the decrease in income from the annual Sports Show. The clubs management team (Bill Keck and Jerry Brown) and President Jim Schuh have been in talks with the Youth Hunting Group, led by Jim Scull about taking over the show. The show would be held in March and would be given a new name. The Youth Hunting Group would take the lead on management of the show and the Shrine and our club would provide manpower for ticket sales and security. The new Show partnership would consist of the Youth Hunting Group, Cosmopolitans and the Naja Shrine. Under such agreement out profit would be less than it has in recent years predicated on the split and show receipts. Negotiations are ongoing.
New member Pauline Sumption was presented her new member packet and the Cosmopolitan Pledge was administered. Jim Preston was presented a pin for bringing Pauline into the club.

Tony Harrison, RCPD spoke to the membership about Identity Theft. Identity theft is one of the fastest growing issues that law enforcement has to deal with. Deter, Detect and Defend (Handout in the 5/17/10 Rays) There are many ways our personal information can be stolen, so we must be aware at all times and proactive to prevent identity theft.

The purpose of the facility is to provide outdoor education experiences to youth and adults throughout western South Dakota and to serve as the headquarters for the Wildlife Division staff of the western South Dakota region.

PROGRAM - 3/15/10
Andrew Busse, Lisa Gustin, Eric Hanson, and Gary Haven, Primal Quest.
These four individuals were the South Dakota team for the international adventure race called Primal Quest that took place in the Black Hills this past August. It consists of running, biking, kayaking, climbing, caving, and swimming long distances. At just over 600 miles this was the longest Primal Quest race held to date. The teams participating in the race do not know the course until the night before the race begins.
It is quite expensive to participate in this race between entry fees and the cost of equipment. No home team has ever finished the race and so it was the goal of the team to finish. The team not only finished, but finished in 14th place out of the 32 teams that started. It was obviously a challenging as well as rewarding experience for the team.
